Shopping Cart Price Rules – “Coupon code “coupon_name” is not valid.” error

Hi!

I’m using Magento ver. 1.5.0.1 with a custom template and I keep getting a “Coupon code “coupon_name” is not valid each time I enter one of the Coupons I create in the Shopping Cart Price Rules. A coupon code created on April 13th works, but all others are throwing the error.

I’ve tried disabling core Magento modules and generating a new code. I’ve also deactivated extensions one at a time that were installed after April 13th via changing their <active> status from true to false in their respective xml files located in /public_html/app/etc/modules, flushing Magento cache, & creating a new coupon. I disabled 9 in all. (Side note: Along the way I also notice that after disabling “Fooman_Speedster” clicking on the submit button, get a quote button & add to cart buttons stopped working. Not sure why that was.)

That first code we generated continues to work, freesihp1, I tried disabling it to see if another one would start working in its place, no go.

I tried to go back and create another coupon that mirrored the settings exactly of the working coupon, to no avail.

I have over ten coupons now. I wondered if the priority had anything to do with it since they were all set to 0, so I changed one to 1 and tried it out, nothing.

Could it be that it doesn’t like more than one coupon? What could we have done to change the ability of Magento to create a working coupon?

Please help! :)

    Hi All,

I think this happen, because of another modules. I you have installed Rewards module, check the “Shopping Cart Points Earning Rules” and check it by giving lowest priority value than other shopping rules. Then it worked fine for me.

    Thanks.

You need to choose the option if the coupon has to be displated for all the customers:
chose “Not Logged In” option to display for all the customers.

Has anyone any ideas about this?
This issue has been around since Magento version 1.1.7, as far as I can tell, but no answers.

I an currently dealing with the issue of two exactly the same rules (exept for the coupon code), one for each of the two store views in one Magento install.
In one store view it works perfectly, while in the other in suddenly stopped working.

Is it the code itself that causes this? I really doubt that.
