How can I show the applied coupon code and/or description for a certain sale in emails, invoices and the Admin in general?

Running on Magento 1.3.2.4. We want to show applied coupon codes on emails, orders and invoices in the Admin. How can we do this?

    Add the field coupon_code from sales_flat_order table in the select clause of the query that fetches data for the report.
