1.4.2 Product Image wont upload??

HELP!!!!

This is killing me now! I’ve been at this for two days and have tried almost everything…. I have a product(s), i go to upload images, it says complete, but there are no images on the product information? The page just goes back to the normal state, try and repeat and the same thing.

777 media folder
tried non flash uploader

What am i doing wrong?

Any help would be AWESOME!!!!

    You most likely have a corrupt session file.

    I suggest deleting all the files in the var/session folder. If the problem still persists delete all the folders and files in var/cache folder. Also make sure that the media/tmp/catalog folders are writable.

    This is where the images of the products are stored temporarily when you upload an image for your product.

    Hi Shaun,

    Sorry if this is obvious, but after you upload the images, you’re sure to save the product, right? If not, any uploaded images will be dumped.

    Hey!

    Thanks for all the info! But nothing seems to work?

    @Guilio I deleted all the files in the var/session folder, var/cache and media/tmp/catalog folders are writable. The same problem still persists. I can actually upload the images, but nothing in the backend is being displayed, as for the frontend it just defaults to the base image??

    @Magentist …. HAHA thanks I thought of that too! I would have been amped if that was the problem!

    Thanks again for all your help! If you have any other idea what could be the problem I would be forever thankful!

    I recently experienced the same issue you had. It has to do with the permissions on the media/catalog/product/ folders. I had the issue when the image for the product would upload but would not show in the admin or in the product view on the store.

    So what I did was check the permissions on the folders and actually deleted the image file from the media/catalog/product/6/1/imagename.jpg, and then re-uploaded it. Now my image show in the frontend and backend.

    That file location was for that specific product so your file location will be different. The principal should be the same.

    I’ve got exactly the same problem. My temporary upload to the /media/tmp/ folder works, the image is present there, only is not getting copied into the /media/catalog folder. The folder rights seem OK. No error is present in the exception logs. How does one solve such an issue ?
